I got the AT810 to replace my old 8170XL and well ... it is about the same. It provides about the same quality shave, takes about the same amount of time to charge, and it feels about the same in my hand (but a bit fatter). This version will go into the shower without frying itself (or me) but other than that it is about the same beast. So, if you liked or disliked any of the old Philips/Norelco razors you will have the similar impression. It is missing a travel case or a battery charge level indicator (other than a single light) so it is not optimal for traveling but for every day use this is a fine affordable product.

This is a great shaver. I have used Braun and Panasonic in the past and I have found Norelco to be the most effective (disclaimer: it has been over 12 years since I've used a competing product).
Out of all the Norelco shavers, I think this one is the most cost effective. Its replacement heads are on the cheaper side. Although Norelco recommends replacing the head every year or so, I do it every 2 years and it works fine.
The charge can last about a month. So I find myself cleaning the shaver more frequently than charging it.
If you want a basic but effective shaver that shaves very well, then look no further.
